6H23 Type 3 - Also called a 6H23P-EB. This tube is new old stock, and haven't been made since the 1980's. It's THE most durable 6922 types we have. It is very clear in the mids. Great extension top and bottom. Not as warm as the type 2. But if you have had trouble with noise or you own a difficult preamp, this is the tube for you. We used to supply these to the Audible Illusions factory for production back in the day.

UPDATE 6/1/2015 Okay guys and gals,I had to change this text so I don't get everybody butt-hurt. When I mean everybody, I mean customers and manufacturers. If you are having problems with 6922 tubes going noisy or microphonic, look at the specifications for your preamp. If it has 25dB of gain or higher, you need to know some things and what your options are. I AM ONLY GOING TO SELL THESE INTO CERTAIN SITUATIONS AS THEY ARE ALMOST GONE FOREVER.

Call the boss-man Tube Guru Kevin Deal at 909-931-9686 or e-mail me directly at kevin@upscaleaudio.com.

If you e-mail me, you must respond with the model of preamp you have, your amp, and speakers, as well as a phone number to reach you so I can make sure I understand what’s going on. If that data isn’t there, I won’t respond.

Box and logo may vary from picture above.

Platinum grade - The best of the best. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest triode balance we have available. This is typically 10% or tighter, but may be higher depending on available stock.

Gold grade - Low noise and microphonics with a triode balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.

Driver/Buffer grade - Lowest noise but not the lowest in microphony. Triode balance will be similar to Gold grade.
This grade is only suitable for use in the driver stage of an amplifier, or the output/buffer stage of a DAC or CD Player.

If you have a preamp or phonostage, you need at least Gold grade.
