Loading... Please wait...Philips E80CC - Gold pin, made in the Philips factory in Holland, branded "SQ" for Special Quality. Incredible air and detail, smooth mids, holographic soundstage. For more info on Philips Holland, click here. These are getting hard to find, but we've got decent stocks available now.
The E80CC has slightly different operating parameters than a normal 12AU7, which can affect the way your gear operates. Some folks use the E80CC as a replacement for the 12AU7, but consult your equipment's manufacturer before proceeding as some circuits may not be compatible. Also, the tube is about twice as tall as a regular 12AU7, so make sure you have enough space in your equipment.
Platinum grade - The best of the best. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest triode balance we have available. This is typically 10% or tighter, but may be higher depending on available stock.
Gold grade - Low noise and microphonics with a triode balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.
Driver grade - Lowest noise but not the lowest in microphony. Triode balance will be similar to Gold grade.
This grade is only suitable for use in the driver stage of an amplifier, or the output/buffer stage of a DAC or CD Player.
If you have a preamp or phonostage, you need at least Gold grade.
