Liquid detail, great 3-dimensionality, and good top end extension that has nice shimmer without being bright... however if you're looking to tame a bright system, the Siemens or Mullard may be a better option. These were in bulk packing, so will come in generic boxes. Price is for a single tube.
Platinum grade - The best of the best. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest triode balance we have available. This is typically 10% or tighter, but may be higher depending on available stock.
Gold grade - Low noise and microphonics with a triode balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.
Driver grade - Lowest noise but not the lowest in microphony. Triode balance will be similar to Gold grade.
This grade is only suitable for use in the driver stage of an amplifier, or the output/buffer stage of a DAC or CD Player.
If you have a preamp or phonostage, you need at least Gold grade.

I will make this short and sweet. I tried many 12au7 types in my prologue 2. I love the mullard 4003 and has been my standby. I tried these because of all the talk on the forums about this tube. I love it. it is sweet, liquid, beautiful detail and very nicely balanced and very refined sounding. Now I Switch between the cbs 5814's and the mullard 4003's. Very nice tube and worth every penny...

Using this tube in the Minimax buffer slot and it adds an incredible dynamism and dimensionality to the music. An incredible combination with a Radiotechnique in the amp slot and not bright even with a digital power amp and SEAS magnesium speaker drivers.
