Loading... Please wait...Amperex "PQ" E88CC/6922 - Ohhh baby! I don't think I have to tell you guys much about this one. These are the real deal. These have gold pins and a straight bottle that is slightly taller than other 6922s, which tells us these are late 1950's (1958-1960) vintage, made in Holland. This is the tube that came after the "Pinch Waist" 6922, and is actually a better tube... not as noisy.
Some are branded "PQ Premium Quality" while others are branded with the Amperex "PQ" shield. I cannot guarantee availability of a specific logo. We only have a few of them, and I paid top dollar, so they're priced accordingly.
A Quick note about this tube: This is one of the earliest examples of a 6922/E88CC. Though better-built than the original "Pinch Waist," they are still a very early 6922, and as such do not test low in microphony.
We have tested every tube to our highest standards. We have sold through the Platinum Graded tubes, so all that's left now is Driver Grade.... and we only have a handful left...
Please call or email before ordering so we can determine if this tube will be a good candidate for your equipment, as some gear will be too brutal and this tube may not hold up very long.
Driver grade - Lowest noise but not the lowest in microphony. Triode balance will be similar to Gold grade.
This grade is only suitable for use in the driver stage of an amplifier, or the output/buffer stage of a DAC or CD Player.
If you have a preamp or phonostage, you need at least Gold grade.
