The structure is entrenched and the quality of sound is gentle and warm which is the sound I wish to hear. Totally, I feel it better than so called "vintage"s.

These are the tubes that came with the Prologue One…sounding awesome right outta-da-box.
The PL-EL34 is eminently neutral sounding
(I guess, as neutral as an EL34 can be)
I’m sure there are plenty of great new and nos EL34’s out there and maybe some not so great.
The Prologue One is not your fathers tube amplifier (my dad stuck his Eico integrated in the garage after buying a huge Magnavox TV/Stereo console with side firing 15” drivers and front firing horn-tweeters) I eventually inherited the Eico (surreptitiously at first)
This is a contemporary vacuum tube amplifier. It doesn’t sound like a Dynaco- Dynakit (dinosaur?) or the classic Marantz and Fisher amps/receivers.
So if that’s the kind of sound that you’re looking for, try some NOS or recent Reissues
Or just go back to 1969, NOS Flux-Capacitors are all over E bay these days.
Seriously. I’ve been tube-rolling the signal tubes, to good effect. more on this later.
I bought a quad of ElectroHarmonix EL34. It took me right back to the early seventies; only my hearing has changed since then (for the worse probably) what I mean to say is that I listen to music differently now. I like musicality—accuracy—3d-sounstaging etc.
The PrimaLuna EL34’s trim the fat and delute the sugar. That’s how I like my music.
I put the EH-EL34 away in the closet
(will sell’em for $500 in thirty years)
In the meanwhile I just got another quad of the PL-EL34
(tube guys like to hoard tubes, its what we do!)
You know what the best part is?
I like these tubes, there’s plenty available and they’re dirt-cheap (comparatively speaking)
That’s important to me, because I’m obsessed with rare NOS-European signal-tubes!!
To each, his own.
